This past weekend was spectacular. Mild temps, plenty of sun. Enjoy the 'leaves' while you can, it seems that they are changing colors and dropping from the trees in a rapid fashion!
The Mid-South is not known for it's "Fall colors," didn't get to make the trip to the mountains near Gatlinburg this year... but in the past, they have been amazing.
So I'll just have to do with some pictures from the web.
The "Weather Channel" does a great job at keeping up with this.
Hurricane IDA is a "late season" storm (Hurricane Season officially ends November 30th) the first in some 25 years to make landfall this late in the season. Two great places to track this storm, the official site: National Hurricane Center and also, one of my fav's: Stormpulse.
On the "Storm Pulse" be sure to "Click ON" the "Forecast models." Due to hit land overnight tonight, near Mobile, AL.
I don't see this storm having any major impact on the Mid-South... biggest concerns are 60-80 mph winds upon the impact zone, 4-6 inches of rain along its path into the southeast part of our country, and 4-8 feet of storm surge. After landfall, the biggest threat will be flooding rain and isolated tornadoes.
Twenty years ago today, the Wall, came tumbling down. Memories, however, will be slow to fade.
