Do you remember the movie "Footloose?" How could you forget, it was a staple for a generation with Kevin Bacon in the lead. So, when I heard there was a "remake" planned for this film, to say I was skeptical was an understatement.

Enter Memphis Film maker Craig Brewer. Already noticed for his "Hustle and Flow" and "Black Snake Moan" ... a remake of Footloose appeared to be on the back burner of his mind since his child hood.

I can only imagine the grief he encountered by loyalists, about putting a modern spin on a movie so many felt embodied their youth! Hey, I was one of them.

Until I saw the movie.

A great cast, a great script, and the characters all came to life again, with the drama, comedy and angst of youth. I believe those in High School are going to love this film. Kudos to Mr Brewer, for finding a "spot on" cast to deliver his version of this classic.

I'm looking forward to seeing it again.
