Enjoying the sun as temps climb into the mid 80s

work, life

...
Mother Nature has finally picked up on the term "timing" by providing us with very nice weather and a weekend at the same time.

Sunshine, low 70's, light winds and the weekend.... gee what more could you ask for.

Now to find things to do "outside" to keep the kids busy. The girls have been all over me about taking them to the zoo, and while there request usually comes as I pick them up after school, the easy answer has been, "not enough time, now." But man, if they hit me about Saturday, I'll be plum out of excuses. Even though there is a good chance the Zoo is going to be a Zoo. I'm sure we won't be the only ones with this idea. I believe they have a new area that has opened, Teton Trek I think? Just read up about it "on line" and learned, that the bears at the Memphis Zoo, don't hibernate! Why? Cuz they eat such healthy food, there is no need to "sleep away the winter." I ask you though, how do you convince them of that? Isn't it like, nature, and in their DNA to take that longer winter snooze? It's in MY DNA, and I have to fight it every day!

The "Children's Museum of Memphis" is always a good choice, only that is "inside" and the goal is to capitalize on the weather, with out getting too much sun.

Was out at the Southaven Business Expo Thursday with Kris. You can see some of the folks we ran into, and took the time for photos at the "See Me, Stop Me" page. I created this page after having so many friendly folks stop me in my "non-work" travels to say nice things about our show and station. I wanted to reward them some how... and I'm hopeful they watch when we give them a "shout-out" in the morning on Daybreak. These folks can go to this site, and with just a couple of clicks share this picture with their friends if they so desire. The concept was "Team Daybreak" and my hopes were that Markova, Corie, Kris, Melissa and Candace would all take part, as I gave them the super secret email code that allows them to snap a photo, enter a name, and when they send it to the email address, it immediately and automatically goes to the web site. No Fuss, no muss, couldn't make it any easier. But it's really turned into the "Todd Demers, See Me Stop Me" page, with little input from others. I was hoping to see something from Corie and Markova, in the target rich environment of the Business Expo, but, nada. Well, I thought it was a good idea. Speaking of ideas....

Working on a new product. Heading off to the production offices today for proto-type construction. Again, it sounds like a good idea to me. Time will tell if others feel the same way. I'm not going to share what it is, or what it does, but the market is universal. I've had so so many ideas over the years, it sure would be great if I can make one stick. The crazy thing is, I start working on all aspects of marketing and selling a product before I even have it finalized, the commercials, the websites, the billing, the shipping. And oh yeah, getting the product made! I'm lucky because I believe there are a couple of companies near by that could crank them out by the thousands when I say "GO!" Just wanting to make sure I have my own infra-structure set up. AND, on this product, unlike others, I'm having trouble coming up with a name for it. I've always believed the name of your product should pretty much explain what it is. This one is hard to describe.

Ask me about "Scoops" chips when you have a moment. I've learned to keep my mouth shut until my idea has been protected.

Weekend approaches

...
You know, it's been a week of "catch up" and recovery. Long trip to the mountains last weekend and little sleep have forced me to be early every day this week.

I think I'm caught up.

Weather has been tremendous over the last several da ys. Lots of sun, little wind, temps from 70-80 degrees... out next cold front offers rain/thunder mix Saturday morning, which has more than a few concerned abou their "outdoor" activities. While the rain may move through quickly, out by about midday, I'm worried about some wind y weather that will linger through the afternoon. Clearing and a touch cooler for Sunday. Austen wil be on top of it Saturday morning, so be watching Daybreak for the latest, since you'll likely "NOT" have to be at work that day. (or at least I hope not)

Not sure if my kids read this, we'll test it. Kristin, Lauren, I feel abandoned by you this week! (or this month!) Kris, I know you are busy up in NYC with your " grad school" stuff and work, but, gee, throw the old man a text, email, random phone call while on the subway. Looks like your weather has really been rather, uh, (new weather word here:) Suckish as of late, I hope spring actually arrives for you this weekend. And Lauren... you are on Spring Break now. I know you like going to the beach, but I also know you love working that computer too. Email, Text, call, you know all the numbers and combinations. Have you given a "shout out" (tv term) to my folks?! I know they'd love to hear from you too. See, problem is technology has taken away all your excuses. Now it's all on YOU... J ust so you know, I miss you, I love you, and I'd love to hear from you, even if "nothing's going on." Kris, hope you don't mind I shared that great photo you took, about that dog, all decked out... loved it, found it in your Facebook photos.

Lauren... you've been promising me photos for a long time... even with a fancy new camera and phone camera.... you don't start sending, I'm going to start posting your baby pictures on your Facebook home page for all you friends to see. You wouldn't want that, r ight? Hey, desperate times.... lol.

Okay, Corie's got a tour and I need to go and chat with them from the weather pod!

Corie, is the young lady on the right of this picture!
